Beat the clock
- Beat the clock ：（在截止时间前）完成任务
*To take action or finish a task before a deadline.
I'll beat the clock.
我会在截止时间前完成任务的。
I beat the clock. I handed in my test paper just before the bell rang.
我在截止时间前完成了。就在响铃前我交上了考卷。
